But that’s not true! These are much-loved themes in film and television, and evil It did so in its own wonderfully quirky way, but also overstepping familiar territory at times.

Stigmata
Released in 1999, the film stars Gabriel Byrne as a Jesuit priest whose job it is to investigate and expose miracles. When he becomes embroiled in the case of a woman (Patricia Arquette) who suddenly develops stigmata-like scars and begins spouting cryptic messages in Aramaic, the Vatican becomes involved. Borderlands (alias Final Prayer)

Prince of Darkness
io9’s retrospective review of the John Carpenter classic called it “one of the most disturbing portrayals of evil ever” and evilA priest teams up with a physics professor and his students to study what may be a demon in liquid form. The plot is full of holes and crazy energy, but… Prince of DarknessFeaturing an all-star cast of Carpenters regulars, including Halloween’s Donald Pleasence, this film will keep you hooked. Rosemary’s Baby
Starring Julia Garner Rosemary’s Baby Part 1, Apartment 7Ais coming soon to Paramount+ (where else?), but if you’re already in a demon baby mood, evilThere’s no better place to see little Timothy from The New York Times than the original. In 2024, Timothy is entrusted to a willing surrogate mother, created using Kristen’s stolen eggs and her worst enemy’s devil-worshipping sperm. In 1968, Rosemary is attacked by demons, betrayed by her husband, terrorized by a group of neighbors, and gives birth to the great hope of the forces of evil. When evil lurks
Sometimes, it is inexplicable. There is no devil, no Catholic church, no priest with a Bible to perform rituals.
