Fall is fast approaching. For students, fall means the start of a new semester, but for Apple, fall usually means new iPhones, Apple Watches, and sometimes more. With the recent refresh of the iPad Pro and the Apple Vision Pro rolling out outside the US, there are a number of products Apple fans are eagerly waiting for to be released by the tech giant before the end of the year. Let’s take a look at the long list.
1 iPhone 16 lineup
Four refreshed models
With near-perfect consistency, Apple is expected to release a new generation of iPhone every September. This year, we can expect four new models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 lineup is not expected to differ significantly from its predecessor, with the display size remaining the same, except for minor design changes such as a pill-shaped rear camera. It is likely to feature an upgraded A18 chip for improved speed, performance, and battery life. The phone may also feature a new dedicated “camera button” for taking photos.

2 Apple Watch Series X
It’s 10, not X.
The Apple Watch Series X (pronounced 10 (don’t @)) is set to launch this fall to celebrate the Apple Watch’s 10th anniversary. For a while, it was thought that the Apple Watch would get a major redesign, including a new magnetic strap. But that ambitious rumor has been scaled back. The Apple Watch Series X will look a lot like the previous Series 9, but it’ll have an upgraded processor, a brighter display, and, with any luck, new health sensors.

3 Apple Watch SE (3rd generation)
Plastic or not plastic
The Apple Watch SE has been Apple’s more affordable entry point into the product line since the Apple Watch Series 3 was discontinued. Like the Apple Watch Series X, the third-generation Apple Watch SE is likely to feature a larger display along with a faster processor. It’s also possible that Apple will change the watch’s casing from aluminum to plastic, making it more durable and appealing to kids.

4 Apple Watch Ultra (3rd generation)
But is it Ultra enough?
Following the lead of the other two expected Apple Watch models, the third-generation Apple Watch Ultra won’t see a major redesign. Like last year’s Ultra refresh, it’s likely to get just the faster S10 chip and other small improvements. With any luck, we might see newly integrated health sensors and a redesign similar to the one rumored for the Apple Watch Series X.

5 M4 Mac
More power
The announcement of the M4 chip in the new iPad Pro has techies buzzing and wondering when it will arrive in Apple’s Mac lineup along with the Pro, Max, and Ultra models. It seems unlikely that the current Mac hardware will be redesigned; after all, they all look very good. Still, we can expect the Mac Studio, Mac mini, Mac Pro, and MacBook Pro to have more powerful M4 chip models, as well as an M4 MacBook Air at some point. There are also rumors that the iMac will be refreshed with the M4 chip, so if you’ve been waiting to buy Apple’s all-in-one desktop computer, your time may be coming soon.

6 AirPods (4th generation)
2 pairs possible
Interestingly, Apple may release two pairs of AirPods this year. One pair is expected to add active noise cancellation and Find My and replace the current third-generation AirPods. The rumored second pair is thought to be a cheaper option to replace the second-generation AirPods, which Apple still sells at a lower price.

From the third-generation AirPods to the AirPods Max, each of Apple’s AirPods has its own pros and cons.
7 AirPods Max (2nd generation)
How about USB-C?
I’ve been patiently waiting for Apple to release new AirPods Max. It seems like Apple is about to release something. The worry is how much they will release. The second generation AirPods Max will be almost the same as the previous model, except that Lightning will be replaced with USB-C and maybe some new colors will be added. It will be a revolutionary product.

Apple’s AirPods Max 2 are rumored to be coming this year, and these four features make them worth upgrading from the original model in my opinion.
8 AirPods Pro (3rd generation)
Planned for 2025
Unfortunately, we’ll still have to wait for the AirPods Pro refresh. Not much is known about the potential refresh, but we could see a comfort-focused redesign, possibly eliminating the stem in favor of a pure bud design. In addition to the new H3 chip, the AirPods Pro could also introduce health tracking features for the first time in Apple’s earbuds with a temperature sensor.

AirPods are one of Apple’s greatest products, and every year the white earbuds get new features that often go unused.
9 iPad mini (7th generation)
Further iterations
Like most of the products on this list, the seventh-generation iPad mini isn’t expected to get any major updates. Of course, any revisions would be welcome, given how long it’s been without an update. Apple’s smallest iPad will likely get a new chip and some new colors.

10 iPad (11th generation)
Inherited Technology
Typically, Apple’s cheapest iPad doesn’t attract as many people, given that it’s essentially just inherited technology offered at a more affordable price, and the 11th-generation iPad is expected to continue this trend, remaining largely the same as the 10th-generation model, except perhaps for a bigger battery and an improved display.

11 Touchscreen HomePod
Become your kitchen’s best friend
Pocket Lint
HomeKit fans are excited that Apple is expected to finally release a touchscreen HomePod or a device that blends an iPad with a HomePod to act as a smart home hub, control center, and entertainment console. Not much else is known about what the device will look like. If the product does indeed reach the market, it will be an interesting offering for the company, which has had an on-and-off approach to its smart home stack.

12 Refreshed Apple TV 4K
Is a camera included?
Pocket Lint
Since FaceTime, Zoom, and other video calling apps came to tvOS, there have been many calls for Apple to release an Apple TV with a camera and microphone, or to provide the option to connect a webcam. The Apple TV 4K refresh was originally expected to arrive earlier this year, but is now expected to be released soon. At the very least, the new Apple TV is expected to have a new processor that will make gaming better and support more video and audio codecs.

13 The resurrected iMac Pro
The professional comeback
apple
Rumors suggest that Apple is working on a 30- to 32-inch iMac that could arrive as early as late 2024, but more likely in 2025. Either way, this new, more powerful iMac will likely be equipped with some variation of the M4 chip and a fancy display, such as a ProMotion-enabled mini-LED.

14 Foldable
What will break first?
Pocket Lint
It’s pretty well known by now that Apple is working on some sort of foldable device. Which one will be first? It’s hard to say, as the company has patented and is experimenting with foldable iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Either way, it’s pretty much concluded that we’ll be lucky to see foldable devices in 2025, let alone 2024.
