The 2073 is definitely one of a kind. Asif Kapadia’s new film premiered at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month and has elements of documentary, drama, science fiction and horror. First, he drops us into the dystopian city of New San Francisco. There we learn that the world of 2073, sometime in the 2040s, has been ravaged by an unspecified catastrophe known as The Event.
