Waze is a popular free navigation app owned by Google. It’s packed with useful features and is my personal favorite for driving directions. One of Waze’s most useful features is the ability to report accidents and other hazards. These reports are instantly shared with other Waze users. You can also update the current prices at local gas stations to help other Waze drivers find the cheapest place to fill up.

But some of Waze’s other features are less well known. In fact, some of them are so well hidden that you’d never discover them without help. Luckily, we’re here to help you out. Here are 7 secret Waze tips and tricks that many Waze users don’t know exist.

1 Know when to leave

Get notified when it’s time to start your journey

Need to get somewhere at a specific time? Enter the time you want to arrive at your destination into Waze, and it’ll tell you what time you need to leave. Not only that, but Waze will even notify you when it’s time to leave.

1. Open Waze and enter the destination you want to navigate to.
2. Tap Departing later.
3. Swipe up or down to change Estimated time of arrival Time. The main screen shows you the expected traffic volume and duration of your trip.
4. Select the time you want to arrive and tap keep It’s in the top right corner of the screen.
5. Your itinerary will be saved with your selected arrival time.
6. When it’s time to leave, you’ll receive a notification on your phone letting you know it’s time to leave.

2 See your current location coordinates

Access hidden GPS coordinates in Waze

Want to see the GPS coordinates of your current location? Waze can show you your coordinates, but you must use a special secret code to access this feature. You cannot turn this feature on or off in the app settings. You can turn off GPS coordinates again by entering the same code again.

1. Open Waz Tap search icon.
2. Enter the code in the search field ##@Coordinate Tap return.
3. The following message will be displayed on the screen: Coordinate display is on.
4. The top of the screen will display the GPS coordinates of your current location.
5. To turn the feature off, repeat the steps and ##@Coordinate Code again.
6. You will see a message similar to the following: map.
7. If you enter the code again, you will see the following message: Coordinate display is off.
8. Your GPS coordinates will no longer be displayed in the app.

3 Customize your expected arrival time

More accurate travel times based on your driving history

Everyone has a different driving style – someone who considers themselves a frustrated racing driver might complete a trip much faster than an old grey-haired lady who can barely see through the wheel – and by default, both users will get the same estimated time of arrival (ETA) for their trip.

However, you can customize your ETA based on your personal driving style. Turning this option on will improve the accuracy of your ETA by using data on how quickly you completed other routes compared to your ETA and adjusting the calculation accordingly.

1. Open Waz Tap menu icon.
2. select setting.
3. Tap navigation.
4. toggle Customize your expected arrival time upon.
5. Waze now uses your past drives to calculate your estimated arrival time.

Four Change vehicle type

Improved taxi and motorbike route options

If you’re a motorbike rider, Waze might not always choose the best route for you, and the same goes for taxi drivers, but you can change the vehicle type in Waze to optimize the route for your specific vehicle.

1. Open Waz Tap menu Icon in the top left corner of the screen.
2. Tap setting.
3. select navigation.
4. At the bottom of the screen Car model.
5. choice private, taxior motorcycle.
6. Depending on the vehicle type you select, the navigation suggestions will change.

Five Navigate with your voice

Don’t let others tell you where to go

Waze offers a wide range of voices to choose from for your navigation instructions, including famous people and seasonal voices, but if none of them suit your taste, you can choose the best voice to guide you to your destination: yourself.

Waze lets you record your voice reading a list of navigation directions so you can let your voice guide you while you drive. There are lots of phrases you can record, but you don’t have to record them all to start using your voice for navigation.

1. Open Waz Tap menu icon.
2. select setting.
3. Tap Voice and Sound.
4. select Ways Audio.
5. under Voice Recorder,Tap Add your voice.
6. Name your voice.
7. Tap one of the voice prompts.
8. Press record Click the icon to read the instructions aloud.
9. You can play back your recording and listen to it again, and if you’re not happy with it, you can record it again.
10. Tap keep Once you are happy with the recording.
11. Repeat this process for as many commands as you want to record. For any commands you don’t record, the default audio will be used instead.
12. When done, tap keep It’s in the top right corner of the screen.
13. You can now choose from the following audio options: Audio guidance You can use the option at any time.

7 Get the secret monster mood icon

Be the envy of other Waze users

Waze lets you choose an icon that represents your current mood, which appears on other Waze users’ maps when you’re driving near them. You can choose from a variety of moods, including Hopeful, Energetic, Groovy, and Excited.

However, there’s also a secret Monster mood icon that can’t be selected in the app’s settings – the only way to access this mood is to enter a secret code.

2. Type in the search field ##@Morph Tap return.
3. Return to the main screen.
4. Tap menu icon.
5. You’ll see your current mood icon at the top of the screen, which should depict a purple monster with one eye.
