8 Best Fitbits (2024): Tracker, Watch, GPS, Health

Is Fitbit waterproof?

With the exception of the first generation of kids’ fitness trackers, the Fitbit Ace, all Fitbits have some degree of water resistance. All of the latest wearables, including the Google Pixel Watch 2, Fitbit Charge 6, Sense 2, and Inspire 3, can be submerged in water up to 50 meters deep, which is a good indication of how protected they are when you’re drenched in sweat. Where supported, some Fitbits have the ability to track swimming, but only in indoor pools, using the motion sensors to track movement.

Can I connect Fitbit to Strava?

Yes, but the dedicated Strava app that was previously available on some older watches and trackers has been removed from the Fitbit Gallery. If you have a Pixel Watch, you can download the Strava Wear OS app. If you don’t have a Pixel Watch, you can use the strava.fitbit.com link and follow the instructions to share your exercise data between the two apps.

Can Fitbit measure blood pressure?

Unfortunately, no. The Fitbit app previously supported the ability to manually record blood pressure readings, but no longer does so. Google lets you connect your Fitbit to the Health Connect app to bring your health and fitness data together in one place. If you’re using a blood pressure monitor and app that supports the Health Connect app, this is currently the primary way to integrate the two platforms.

Can Fitbit detect sleep apnea?

Unlike the Sense 2, which features FDA-cleared ECG and PPG heart rate tracking, none of Fitbit’s other wearables have been cleared to detect and diagnose sleep apnea. While the company’s wearables can collect information like snoring using built-in microphones, Fitbit can’t tell you if you suffer from the sleep disorder.

Which Fitbits have ECG sensors?

ECG or electrocardiogram sensors are considered one of the most accurate ways to monitor heart rate activity, measuring electrical activity from the heart. This differs from the way optical PPG style heart rate sensors collect heart rate information and is more susceptible to interruptions such as increased movement, which can affect the accuracy of the data.

Fitbit introduced an ECG sensor to the Sense in 2020, and it’s now available on the Sense 2, Google Pixel Watch, Pixel Watch 2, and Fitbit Charge 6. The accompanying Fitbit ECG app allows users to take on-the-spot ECG measurements and analyze their heart rhythm to detect (but not diagnose) signs of atrial fibrillation, which can be an indicator of a more serious health condition.
