Citing the Atomwaffen Division and the Order of the Nine Horns as enduring influences, Butcher also clarified the nature of MKU’s “alliance” with 764. The alliance was formed by users “Xor” and “Kush” (both as yet unidentified). While accusing 764 of not engaging in enough direct acts of violence, Butcher said that “they may remain allies in the future, as both groups continue to purify their ways by forcing the weak to commit suicide.”
According to victims of 764 members, “Tobbs,” a troubled young German man convicted of murdering an elderly woman and stabbing a man in 2022, was in the original 764 Discord server along with Almeida and 764’s teenage founder Bradley Cadenhead, who is serving a decades-long sentence in a Texas prison for CSAM crimes. According to reports from Der Spiegel and the Recorder, Tobbs has a tattoo of the Tempel of Blood’s trident and joined MKU.
No. 2 Tophet’s Drumwhich the author describes as “designed for dark warriors facing impending doom in the near future,” features Q309, a self-described “art project” in the same vein, featuring themes of occult sadomasochism, close to CSAM, Order of Nine Angles themes, and a lengthy interview with the founder of the Satanic Front, a southern occultist organization.
In communications with former Tempel of Blood members viewed by WIRED, Sutter spoke openly about watching CSAM with peers and appeared to be obsessed with conspiracy theories like Project Monarch, which involves child abuse. Former ToB members also noted that Sutter was fascinated by the case of Belgian serial killer, rapist, and pedophile Marc Dutroux. Shortly before the Agony Point Press X account was taken offline in March of this year, the account had posted photos of a bloody Dutroux along with human and animal skeletons, as well as a severed doll head with lightning bolts and swastikas painted on it, along with the heads of dead Nazis and the Nazi slogan “We are the people.”That’s my truth“(My honor is my loyalty)”
Several times over the past year, X’s Agony’s Point Press account has posted videos and photos highlighting an increased interest in 764 and its offshoots, particularly MKU and the group’s Order of Nine Angles. The account also regularly posts about 764 and com, sometimes adopting a faux-journalistic tone to launder posts from its CSAM distribution and extortion network. Around Christmas 2023, @agonyspoint posted a graphic of MKU’s hockey goalie mask insignia with the ToB trident imprinted on the forehead.
All of this comes as the FBI’s investigation into 764 expands, resulting in new arrests in early 2024, including those of alleged members Kyle Spitze and Richard Densmore, who pleaded guilty in mid-July. Additionally, there are ongoing FBI investigations that stem directly from MKU’s ties to 764, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the matter.
Earlier this year, the Agony’s Point account resurfaced in older Martinet Press materials, with several threads blue bird and Iron GateTwo books that Sutter introduced as required reading to the Atomwaffen Division glorify child abuse and rape.
“Deal with the Devil”
The FBI has never mentioned Sutter’s role in inciting violent far-right ideology. But the backlash from Sutter’s actions over the past decade is a feature, not a flaw, of U.S. law enforcement’s use of confidential informants, says Alexandra Natapoff, a professor at Harvard Law School who has studied the issue extensively for more than 15 years. “The informant market is built on a tacit, uncomfortable understanding that sometimes the cure is worse than the disease,” Natapoff tells WIRED. By using people with criminal or extremist histories to infiltrate difficult-to-penetrate environments like gangs, organized crime, and terrorist groups, the U.S. government encourages them to continue swimming in the same waters, she explains.
“This arrangement is woven into it the well-known and avoidable phenomenon that these individuals will commit criminal acts,” Natapoff said. “The FBI is sanctioning undercover and unauthorized criminal acts, and the very fact that the guidelines have that definition is a recognition of the true nature of informants.”
