In Olympic dressage, horses perform dance-like steps that demand great strength and control throughout the body and legs, but there’s more emphasis on the horse’s head position at the 2024 Paris Olympics. On July 27, Brazilian rider Carlos Paro was warned for actions during warm-up that “may have caused unnecessary discomfort to the horse,” according to a statement from the sport’s governing body, the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
