How to Remove Ads on Roku TV
If you don’t like the ad, turn it off.
You might be scrolling through apps trying to decide which one to look at next, but as you look at each page, you come across a super annoying ad that you don’t want to see, so you can identify and remove it so it doesn’t appear on your screen again.
This is very easy, just pick up your Roku remote and move the arrow over the ad you don’t want to see.[OK]Clicking the button will open the ad, but all you have to do is highlight the ad and press the * button. Once you press the * button, a popup window will appear asking if you want to hide this ad. From this popup you can also manage your ad settings (which will reveal the menu we talked about in the previous section), or you can cancel and leave the ad as is.
When you hide this ad, a new one will appear almost instantly. Unfortunately, this does not remove all ads from your Roku home screen. However, you can remove the ones that are intrusive. Note that you can only hide a limited number of ads per day. This number resets after 24 hours. You also cannot remove ads that appear from the screensaver that appears after your Roku has been idle for a while. This is unavoidable unless you use your Roku constantly or turn off your TV.
