Elon Musk’s X only resumed its lawsuit against OpenAI yesterday, announcing that it will fight a massive coalition of some of the world’s largest advertisers.
On Tuesday, X, formerly known as Twitter, filed a lawsuit in Texas federal court against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), a coalition of major advertisers.
GARM is an initiative of the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), which represents companies such as Disney and Walmart. The lawsuit also names the WFA, as well as GARM members CVS, Mars, Unilever and clean energy company Orsted.Orsted

Lawsuit against X’s advertiser
X’s lawsuit alleges that shortly after Musk acquired the company in 2022, GARM “conspired” with brands such as CVS and “jointly withheld billions of dollars in advertising revenue.”

According to the WFA, its members control 90% of the world’s marketing spend.
