Hey Pixel Fans, The time is now: Google is holding an event today where it will fully unveil its next flagship smartphone and its corresponding accessories.
The event, called “Made by Google,” will take place at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California. The “Made by” in the event name refers to hardware, and it will be the company’s home base for showing off all the new products from its in-house hardware brand, Pixel. Google is set to unveil the latest versions of its flagship Pixel smartphones, including the regular and Pro models, a larger XL model, and a foldable version, as well as a new Pixel smartwatch and Pixel Earbuds.
Read our full report to find out what to expect from Made by Google. You might be wondering how we can be so sure of what Google will announce, but leaks have been thriving this year. First smartphone photos and specs were leaked, then images of the smartwatch were leaked, and three weeks before the event, Google released a short video officially teasing the Pixel 9 Pro device. Of course, we expect Gemini, Google’s artificial intelligence chatbot and assistant, to be a big part of today’s announcements. Google showed off many of Gemini’s features at its I/O developer conference earlier this year, and today it’s expected to reveal some Gemini features exclusive to the Pixel.
Wait for the presentation to start 10AM PST, 1:00 PM ET, 6pm BSTThe “Made by Google” event is expected to last approximately 75 to 80 minutes.
WIRED has several reporters on-site at Google HQ today, and this live blog will begin about 30 minutes before the presentations begin, when all of this text will be replaced with live updates. We’ll provide updates and analysis throughout the event, as well as necessary context to frame what Google executives say and say onstage.
So, see you here at 9:30am Pacific time for a 30 minute pre-game chat and (if we’re all lucky) some photos of the free pastries and vegan breakfast burritos that will be available to the media in attendance, before the main show kicks off at 10am. See you!
