It’s no surprise that young people of child-rearing age aren’t prioritizing having children. The costs of raising children, including housing, education, and healthcare, have increased significantly in recent years. Overpopulation and the environmental impacts of further population growth amid the climate crisis are pushing people who can afford to have children away from doing so. Additionally, many countries are facing political and social unrest, causing many young people to delay or avoid having children altogether.
