Likewise, the BlackShark V2 Pro is something you’ll pick up in 10-20 years and still think, “Wow, that’s cool.” Angled wire rods run up to thick tubes that house rotating hinges and hold the ear cups in between. The headset has a professional yet fashionable aesthetic that I like.
I can’t quite explain why, but I love the way the volume knob sticks out even though it doesn’t need to. While other headset makers focus on minimalist designs with inconspicuous buttons and dials, this headset sticks out so prominently that it’s appealing for its boldness alone.
Convenience and comfort
It doesn’t hurt that the volume knob is convenient and well-thought-out: it’s an infinite dial, so you can turn it as far as you like in either direction, and it gives you feedback on how far you’ve turned it with a very subtle click. Instead of physical stops, an audio cue plays when you reach maximum or minimum volume.
Audio quality is solid, but it’s the bass that really stands out. There’s a strong bass boost out of the box, which can help you hear enemy footsteps and other important sound cues in some competitive games. In my opinion, there’s a bit too much bass for general media listening, but it’s great for gaming.
The beautiful design may remind you of your grade school headphones from the 90s, but when you put them on do not haveThe foam on the ear cups is soft and comfortable without putting too much pressure on the sides of your head, and the spacious interior cavity means your ears never feel like they’re being squeezed.
They’re so comfortable I could wear them for hours while listening to music while I worked, or I’d listen to music for five minutes, pause, and then forget I was even wearing the headphones for two hours.
The BlackShark V2 Pro is Many It lasts for a few hours. It’s not the longest battery life we’ve ever had, but it’s still better than most gaming headsets we’ve tested. Razer claims 70 hours of battery life on a full charge, but in my testing I typically got about 2 hours longer than that.
The headset charges via a USB-C port on the left ear cup, and the box includes a USB-C to USB-A cable for charging, as well as an additional USB-A extension cable. This little touch is appreciated, as it means you don’t have to choose between a charging cable that’s long enough or a bunch of extra cables cluttering up your desk.
