Neil Harbison studied music composition at Dartington College of Art and Design in the UK. He was born colour blind and cannot see any colours. But despite the odds, in 2003 Harbison hired product designer Adam Montandon to create a head-mounted device that would translate colours into musical notes that could be played through earphones.
