Self-assembling electronics made from liquid metal particles could offer an inexpensive way to make computer chips by simply exploiting the basic physics of how fluids flow through small structures.
“Currently, the cost of entry to manufacture electronics and build new chip manufacturing facilities in the United States is estimated to be in the billions of dollars,” said Martin Tuo of North Carolina State University. “It’s not cheap.”
