Of course, there are counter-arguments that scientific discoveries have intrinsic cultural value, that space-related initiatives often foster international cooperation, or that the space sector is of vital technological and economic importance.
But the most effective argument may simply be to point out the vast array of everyday objects that would not exist without space research. NASA spinoffs, part of the U.S. space agency’s technology transfer program, bring together nearly all the commercial technologies that emerge from U.S. space research. It has become clear that no other space program has had a greater impact on daily life than the Apollo program.
