He was originally ridden by King Jaehaerys I, but after the king’s long reign and death, Vermithor has yet to find anyone brave enough to bond with him. The Season 1 finale gives us our first glimpse of one of the most feared dragons, the Bronze Fury, as Daemon Targaryen attempts to pacify and bond with him on his dragonmount. This appears to be the first step in Daemon’s plan to further expand the Black army of dragons.

Here’s a rundown of when and how you can watch House of the Dragon Season 2, as well as how to find out what’s coming up in the new season.
Silver Wing
Surprisingly… they are known for their striking silvery scales.
HBO/Max
This female dragon is a force to be reckoned with. She was originally bonded to Queen Alysan Targaryen, wife of King Jaehaerys I. The dragons Vermithor and Silverwing are rumored to have mated with bonded riders. Currently, both reside at Dragonstone, but Silverwing has yet to be seen. There may be a rider worthy of bonding with her, but first, Daemon Targaryen seems to have some kind of battle plan in mind for these dragons. Daemon is very clear about his plans for the dragons, but Rhaenyra seems hesitant, as she believes dragons are not just weapons, but represent the core of Targaryen power.

Sea Smoke and the Wild Ones
Also known as the “untameable” dragon.
HBO/Max
Seasmoke has barely been mentioned since the season 1 finale, where House Black began discussing their battle plans. Seasmoke is currently living in Driftmark without a rider since the death of his rider, Rhaenor (Rhaenyra’s first husband). The last few episodes of season 2 that have aired have been heavily focused on finding more dragons to fight on their side, even the wild ones, also known as the most untamable breeds. Everyone seems to agree that dragons that remain wild without riders can be used to their advantage in the coming war. It is the political influence, power, and awe that dragons exude that makes riderless or wild dragons so dangerous for the coming war. The last three episodes will be filled with fierce battles and the fate of House Targaryen will hang in the balance.
