It looks like Google is looking to further expand its Pixel family.
At least, that’s if you believe a post on XDA Forums (spotted by 9to5Google) that includes leaked photos of a purported Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, the latest addition to the Pixel portfolio, which Google is set to unveil at its latest Pixel series event on August 13.
Google unveils Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold in new video
Over the past year or so, Google has released four Pixel phones: the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel Fold, and Pixel 8a. We already know that Google will be showing off new Pro versions of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel Fold on August 13. Normally, that would leave just the regular Pixel 9 (the Pixel 9a, in theory, won’t launch until next year), but if this leak is true, that means there’ll also be a Pixel 9 Pro XL for Google to show off.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much else we can glean from this leak. According to 9to5Google, the leaked model appears to have 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a new built-in modem provided by Samsung. Without a direct comparison, it’s hard to tell from the photo how much bigger it is compared to the Pixel 9 Pro, or if there are any notable tech spec differences under the hood.
Still, if you’ve been wanting the bigger Pro Pixel, this could be a good year.
