YouTube will now allow creators to save music from their Shorts feed, making audio from Shorts available for reuse across a range of applications.
As you can see in this example sequence, you can now “Save Music” directly from the Shorts UI and the audio will be added to your selected Sounds folder.
Previously, creators had to use workarounds to save music from their Shorts videos, but YouTube now wants to make it easier for users to engage with music clips taken from Shorts content.
This could broaden music discovery while also giving creators another way to create their own takes based on audio cues.
Music has been a key component of TikTok’s success, so it makes sense for YouTube to also make an effort there: earlier this year, YouTube also added the option to add music remixes to its short videos.
YouTube also now offers recommendations in three new languages under the Inspiration tab in YouTube Studio.
YouTube made the Inspiration tab available in English in June, and now it’s bringing the same tool to the English language. Japanese, Korean and Hindi are also available.
The Inspiration tab was originally called the “Research” tab, but is now AI content suggestions: Creators can type a topic into the search bar and YouTube’s AI system will provide ideas and notes based on what their channel’s viewers might be interested in.

YouTube is also a new A desktop extension for creators in the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program, allowing creators to save products and compare commission rates while browsing in Chrome, offering another way to facilitate product listings in YouTube clips.
Finally, YouTube has added new resources to the “Creator Tips” tab of the YouTube Help Center.
YouTube’s Creator Tips contains a variety of guides and tips on different aspects of managing your YouTube channel, and we’re currently adding new content on how to create, discover, and monetize within the app.
For those looking for more ways to maximize their YouTube presence, it may be worth considering.
