The Walking Dead made waves at Comic-Con, and ahead of the release of season 3, a new trailer gave us a peek at what’s to come for Daryl and Carol. With Daryl far away in France and Carol still in the US, we can see how hard these two friends fight for each other. We’ve watched this friendship develop for years, and now we’ll get to see them come together again to fight the dead in Europe! The new season is set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ on September 29, 2024. Following the release of the trailer, AMC renewed the series for season 3.
Additionally, a teaser for season 2 of The Walking Dead: Dead City has been released. This season will feature Maggie, Negan, and of course everyone’s favorite character, Lucille. We’ll also see Maggie finally reunite with her son with Negan’s help. Lauren Cohen has said about their relationship, “We’ve always been two sides of the same coin in a lot of ways, but on the same coin.” It’s a vague description, but it says a lot about what we should expect in the next season.

With Marvel’s blessing, it’s no surprise that the Star Trek franchise is trying to outdo them with more TV shows and movies. Paramount+ will soon begin production on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, a show that will follow a new class of Starfleet cadets as they grow up and thrive in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy, with the hope that these young recruits will serve as an introduction to a younger generation who may not be as interested in Star Trek.
And lucky for us, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will have a third season. A sneak peek released by Paramount+ at Comic-Con gives us homeless a little taste of what to expect in the season. In it, we see Captain Kirk and his legendary crew drinking a serum to turn them into Vulcans for a special mission. And it’s hilarious considering they all turned into Spock. The Lord of the Rings Season 2: The Ring of Power is set to premiere on August 29, 2024, in just a few weeks. The new season will bring the use of rings, wars, and giant creatures to our TV screens. A quote from the trailer hints a little at the bloodshed and drama to come: “An evil, ancient, and powerful being has returned.” As a fan of the series, I am aware of the consequences of wearing/using the ring. Meanwhile, Galadriel seems to think that the weight of using the ring will be worth it in the battles to come. Stay tuned for the next season to find out what happens!
