Ultra, Slim, Air, Fold: All the iPhone variants Apple is rumored to be developing
Apple is still struggling to find a suitable fourth phone for its lineup, with several experimental designs reportedly in the works.
The next-generation A18 processor in the new iPhone models is also a sure bet, and there will also be the annual focus on year-over-year improvements to the camera. It would also make sense for details and demos of Apple Intelligence, the company’s homegrown AI software suite, to be shown at the event.
According to leaked CAD renders, the Pro models (iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max) are expected to grow in size this year, with larger displays measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively, while the non-Pro models are expected to remain the same size as last year’s devices.

Expectations are high for Apple’s revamped peripheral lineup
New Apple Watch and AirPods models are likely to arrive alongside the iPhone 16 series
The Apple Watch Series 10 is widely expected to be unveiled at the iPhone 16 event, which could see refreshed Watch SE and Watch Ultra models as well. Rumors suggest that the new vanilla Apple Watch may get a redesigned look, with a more angular look to match the iPhone’s design language.
We’re also eagerly awaiting an AirPods refresh, but thankfully rumors suggest the fourth generation of the company’s wireless earbuds will be released on September 10. Active noise cancellation (ANC), once exclusive to AirPods Pro, may finally make its way to the base model, and we’re also hoping for an updated USB-C charging case.
Apple has yet to officially announce or send out invites for a new hardware event, but one is likely to happen in the coming days, and an iPhone hardware keynote and September launch date are as certain as the fall leaves and dropping temperatures.
