Apple is going to be busy over the next few months.
The company will be unveiling new iPhones and other gadgets on September 9. But a new report from MacRumors claims that Apple will be holding a separate Mac-focused event in November.
We’ve already heard that Apple plans to upgrade all Mac models to the M4, with some of them set to launch later this year. Now we know a bit more precise timeline, but according to MacRumors, citing reliable sources familiar with the matter, it’s still possible that Apple will indeed hold an event in October and launch the Macs in November. That’s exactly what happened last year, with new Macs announced on October 30 and released on November 7.

This year’s event is expected to see the announcement of a new entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip, as well as 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M4 Pro and M4 Mac chips. Apple is also reportedly planning to launch an iMac with the M4 chip, and a smaller, redesigned Mac mini with the M4 and M4 Pro chips. All devices should come standard with 16GB of RAM.

Most of these devices will be similar to previous models in other respects, but the Mac mini will reportedly be much smaller than the current model and will have a more cube-like appearance.
The M4 chip was first introduced in the iPad Pro back in May, and while it’s not a huge upgrade over the M3 chip, it still performs well, but it remains to be seen how the more advanced M4 Pro and M4 Max chips will perform.
