Somewhere, the faint sound of a particularly melancholic arrangement of “All the Way from the Watchtower” plays. Battlestar Galactica Fans won’t be getting over the show’s 2009, controversial finale anytime soon, as a new report claims the long-planned reboot on Peacock is Mr. Robot‘s Sam Esmail is no longer moving forward with the streamer.
Variety magazine reported the news, Battle Star “It was never officially made into a series and was in development. [since it was announced in 2019]While exact story details were not revealed, the show is set in 2003. Battlestar Galactica The series was joined by Michael Leslie as showrunner in 2020, with Derek Simmons stepping down in early 2024. (sinner) He was instead selected for the role and was also set to serve as writer and executive producer.
At the time, we took the news that Simmons was attached to Esmail’s project as a great sign that it was indeed happening. But now, it appears that’s not the case, at least not at Peacock. Variety reports, “According to a person familiar with the situation, [studio] UCP plans to promote the project to other dealerships.”
I look forward to it! Battle Star It’ll likely find a new home soon, perhaps with a streamer known for its focus on sci-fi?
