The phrase “Cobra Kai will never die” may soon take on a whole new meaning. As he told The Hollywood Reporter, Cobra Kai Co-creator Hayden Schlossberg revealed that this season’s teaser will be about the past of original teacher Mr. Miyagi. We wanted to answer these questions about Mr. Miyagi and his life. We’ve been wanting to talk about this subject for a long time, so we spoke to the original author, Robert Mark Kamen. Karate Boy He based the film on a teacher who studied karate in Okinawa. We’ve been talking to him about Miyagi’s backstory, and that’s helped us get season six going. Now that that’s done, we can really get to work on the production.”
And by “working on this,” did he mean the possibility of a Mister Miyagi prequel show? “We definitely want to do that and we’ve talked about it,” he continued. “But the focus is on Cobra KaiOnce we’ve finished that, we’ll know what path we want to take with regards to the spinoffs, but that’s definitely something we wanted to do. We just want to wait until it’s finished. Cobra Kai First of all, before that.”
