WARNING: This article I’m getting hungryThere is no way around it. Deadpool and Wolverine Team up With DiGiorno Limited Edition Pizza Series, Just talking about pizza makes me want to eat a slice of it.
But which slice should you get? There are four options, all of which should be in stores now in conjunction with Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated Multiverse movie, which hits theaters on July 26. Here’s the breakdown, along with the official description:
- Wade Special: A sweet and salty combination that’s not just for mercenaries. Made with pineapple and black olives, it pays homage to the pizza Wade Wilson ate in the first film.
- Gimme Chimi: The chimichanga-inspired pizza is a taste bud fest, topped with spicy cumin sauce, beef toppings, jalapeños, cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Spicy Wolvy PieMade for Wolverines and other meat lovers, this pie is loaded with pepperoni, chorizo and bacon.
- Maximum vitalityLike Deadpool’s decision, made with maximum flavor and zero regret, Maximum Pep is topped with a generous serving of sliced and diced pepperoni.
Ok, now that we’re all on the same page, let’s move on to the important questions mentioned above: do these themes make sense? Are there any flavors that appeal? And finally, would you care about pizza just because you read 500 words about it and it makes you want to eat it?
Let’s start with the Wade Special. This one obviously makes sense. It comes from the first movie and is a moderately weird and uncomfortable combination. We don’t necessarily want it, but we can get behind it. The Gimme Chimi also seems on-brand. Ask anyone who knows Deadpool what food they associate with him and they’ll likely tell you to pass on the chimichanga. It’s a natural pairing.
But let’s digress a bit. Spicy Wolvey Pie is just a mix of several different meats, as Wolverine claims to be a meat lover. teeth Does Wolverine like meat? Where does that come from? Is it because he stabs things? Either way, there’s no denying that Wolverine is Canadian, so opting for regular bacon topping and not bacon from up north seems like a bit of a thematic miss. But taste-wise, it’s the right choice.
Then there’s Maximum Pep, which as far as we know is just a pepperoni pizza. Deadpool has a sword, so maybe it’s diced? Yes. Does that change the taste? No, it doesn’t.
But you’re hungry at this point, right? I told you so. And frankly, while the first two pizzas are pretty themed to the characters, I’d rather have one of the two that aren’t. Either way, it’s a win-win situation for pizza lovers and Marvel fans alike.
