Popular streamer Dr. Disrespect (real name Guy Beam) may have to return to his doctor’s office after it was confirmed that his YouTube channel has been demonetized. He sent inappropriate messages to minors.
YouTube is The Verge On Friday, Beam’s channel was demonetized and removed from YouTube’s Partner Program due to “serious allegations against its creators.”
“We have removed monetization from DrDisrespect’s channel for violating our creator responsibility policy,” YouTube spokesperson Nicole Bell told The Verge.
Beam did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The latest bad news for the doctor comes a week after someone first came forward with the accusations. Former Twitch Employee Talks About X“He was banned after it was discovered he was sexting with a minor on Twitch’s then-existing Whisper product,” the tweet read. The post did not mention Beam at all. His sudden ban from Twitch in 2020 was shocking given his popularity, and the circumstances surrounding his ban from the streaming platform were not made clear, leading some to speculate that it was Beam. Another former Twitch employee wrote, Support the allegations on monday.
Beam defended himself. On Tuesday, he acknowledged speaking with minors but said the messages were not serious and the conversations were “inappropriate.”
but, Rolling Stone A video released on Friday goes into more detail about Beam’s interactions with minors, including sending “sexually explicit messages” to minors, according to a former Twitch employee, who adds that there was “no confusion” that Beam was a minor.
Beam streamed for the final time on Monday, a short livestream that ended with him saying he was going to take some time off and try something new.
