Thanks to the new feature, the “blue check” may no longer dominate X’s reply threads.
In recent years, there has been a lot of criticism over Elon Musk’s change to the blue checkmark, which was used to verify the authenticity of prominent figures when the platform was called Twitter. Under Musk’s direction, X started handing out blue checkmarks to everyone who pays $8 a month for X Premium. In addition, blue check subscribers Takes priority In a post mention.
Elon Musk and X’s decision to sue advertisers may have backfired
As a result, User X would often see posts from the account with a blue checkmark at the top of replies to their own posts, even if the replies were completely unrelated to the conversation.
\And in X for web it will look like this:

The last two reply sorting options are pretty straightforward: “Latest” shows replies in chronological order from newest to oldest, and “Most Liked” shows the replies with the most likes first. Blue Check accounts seem to completely lose any benefits they get from a paid subscription once you select either of these two menu options.
It’s unclear how X determines how to sort posts using the “Most Relevant” option, but it appears to be the same sorting method as the previous default. Blue checks still seem to take precedence in this view.
Any user can change the sorting options for replies for all posts they see, not just their own posts.
It will be interesting to see if these new options prove popular with X’s user base. If many X users prefer to see replies with “likes” or “latest,” X Premium subscription fees could take a hit as it weakens one of the paid subscription perks for blue checkmark users.
