Everyone is interested in heat pumps

Lauren Good: I agree. You also recommended a podcast episode with her.

Michael Karol: I agree.

Lauren Good: Was it? fresh air One?

Michael Karol: Yeah. To you. Yeah. Yeah, because I was like, “Who is Kathleen Hanna?” And I’m like, “Oh, I’ve got to check her out.” Oh yeah, I think she was on another podcast last week. Anyway, the book is brand new. You can get it as an ebook or an audiobook. She’ll read it to you, and if you have Spotify Premium, I think you can listen to it as part of your subscription, so I recommend that you do that. That’s how I’m enjoying her voice.

Matt Simon: In fact, I think I saw it in Green Apple.

Michael Karoly: Yeah.

Matt Simon: If you’re a San Francisco local, you might find it there.

Michael Carroll: yes.

Matt Simon: You should be there too. anyway. It’s a great bookstore.

Lauren Good: Oh yeah, I was passing by there the other day.

Michael Carroll: Yes, it’s the best. One of the best in the world.

Lauren Good: You told a great story about a book you gave away.

Michael Carroll: oh yeah.

Lauren Good: And then it came back to you.

Michael Karoly: Yeah. Between the clock and the bed?

Lauren Good: That is correct.

Michael Karoly: Edvard Munch. Yes, but that’s a boring story.

Lauren Good: I enjoyed it.

Michael Karoly: I’m glad.

Lauren Good: Yeah.

Michael Karoly: What do you recommend?

Lauren Good: My recommendation, and this came to mind because I came to the studio today unprepared, is: staycation.

Michael Karol: Tell me more.

Matt Simon: As a concept or as a medium?

Lauren Good: Ah, as a concept. Is there a medium called staycation?

Matt Simon: I don’t know.

Lauren Good: Like a magazine? I should start one.

Matt Simon: Yeah.

Lauren Good: I loved the idea. It’s a great time in the media industry to start a magazine. It’s a staycation. My best friend is letting me use her office in her home, which is great because it’s not too far from home, but going there on the weekend gives me a different perspective. It’s a different place. I’m not thinking about laundry and cleaning and things that need to be done and orders that need to be placed on Amazon.com. It’s away, but not far. It’s really nice. It really clears my head. I’m also writing a book, so it helps me in that respect. I mean, that’s the biggest thing.

But over the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to stay about 30 minutes just north of here, so I’ve been away, but that wasn’t the case. away It’s great to be away. But if you can, go on a staycation. If you have the money, if you have a friend who says, “I need someone to take care of my pet,” or “Would you like to spend the weekend at my house?” then just do it. Get a completely different perspective on where you live, your neighborhood, the people around you, try new restaurants, new places, and if you can, take a staycation while staying local.
