A Hawaiian story involving the wrath of two gods helps scientists trace the remains of an 8-metre-tall tsunami that hit Maui, the state’s second-largest island, at least 350 years ago. I did.
“Our research breathes new life into ancient mo’olelo (folklore stories) and fleshes out the bones of important historical events,” says Scott Fisher from the University of Southampton, UK.
