Google Will Let You Personalize Gemini After Your Favorite Celeb

If you could give Google’s Gemini a personality of your choosing, would you be more likely to use it? information The search giant is reportedly working on the concept of modelling the Gemini chatbot after celebrities and tweaking it to be more friendly and respond in a human-like way.

Google is also considering releasing personalized chatbots internally as soon as later this year, according to one of two people interviewed for the report, as part of a larger effort to make its AI capabilities easier to use.

Google’s Gemini AI will power the chatbot. Personalities will likely come from YouTube, another big revenue stream for Google. It’s unclear who has been invited to work on the project, but Google is looking to incorporate popular creators into the project. Imagine your favorite creators becoming your chatbot assistants. We hope the word “partnership” means that Google will vet the creators before platforming them as chatbots.

It’s hard not to imagine Google will make an effort to anthropomorphize its chatbots, especially given the somewhat lukewarm response to its launch. Character.AI and Meta offer similar personality-focused chatbots in their respective products. While not nearly as engaging, the so-called personality lends a friendly sheen to a technology that consumers are skeptical of.
