Both the 96-foot and 144-foot sets are currently discounted on Amazon. You can also purchase them on the Govee website. They are rated for 36 volts and 54 watts. I’m using the 144-foot set, which comes with 51 cable clips, 51 cable ties, 3 string light sets, and a control box.
The lights are waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about leaving them outside in bad weather. They can withstand temperatures as low as -4 degrees and as high as 140 degrees. What I like about Govee Outdoor String Lights 2
Set the mood you want

I have a low deck that’s not too far off the ground, so I wanted some lights to help guide me onto the grass. I’ve tried solar lights (you can see them in the pictures) but they didn’t provide the brightness my family needed at night. I have a ring floodlight but it’s too bright if you’re just going to be sitting out on the deck at night and spending time there, so I was looking for some lights to create some ambiance.
After installing the Govee Outdoor String Lights 2, I felt like I found what I was looking for. Instead of hanging them under the roof of my house, I decided to wrap them around the exterior wall of my deck. Once the lights were installed, syncing with the Govee app was easy. I already had the app because I’ve used Govee products before, but if you don’t, all you need to do is download it and sign up for a free account to get started. The string lights are Bluetooth enabled, making the setup process a breeze.
After setting up my Govee Outdoor String Lights 2, I felt like I had found exactly what I was looking for.
The great thing about the Govee app is how easy it is to change the lights. You can adjust the color of the light by choosing one from a huge list. You can also adjust the color of each bulb individually. Or, if you don’t want to be bothered with the app, there are plenty of modes to choose from. It’s a lot of fun going through the app and trying different settings. I turned on an episode of Stranger Things in the living room and set the outdoor lights to red for fun. I turned off the lights inside and enjoyed the spooky ambiance of the red light outside.

We’ve also integrated our outdoor string lights into your Amazon Alexa smart home. With just a few clicks of a button in the Alexa app, you can tell your Echo Show 8 to “Alexa, turn on my outdoor lights” to turn on your lights before you head out. The lights also work with Google Assistant; however, they need to be plugged in and can be turned on with the included remote, so make sure you place them near an outdoor outlet or use an extension cord. The ease of use of these lights is a big selling point for use at home.

What I don’t like about the Govee Outdoor String Lights 2
Setup is tedious

Because the bulbs are large, the cords also need to be thicker than simple Christmas lights, which means they get tangled very easily. It probably took me longer to untangle the cords than it did to actually hang the lights. All three string lights were folded up inside the box, which made them very difficult to untangle. The bulbs are sturdy, but they also feel oddly cheap. Not many people touch the bulbs, but they do feel weird.
If you want to hang these lights or string them up near a roof or canopy, Govee includes some zip ties in the box to thread through the cable clips. These zip ties are flimsy and too small, making it very difficult to actually string down the lights using the included zip ties. If you go this route, you’ll need to bring your own nails, hooks, or whatever to string the lights with. Also, the user manual says you can attach the cable clips to the top of the lights, but I can’t seem to do that. I found it much easier to attach the clips to the cords on the side of the lights.
Should I buy the Govee Outdoor String Lights 2?
The Govee Outdoor String Lights 2 offer a variety of possibilities to create the ambiance you desire. They are very bright and can change the look a certain way. They may not be the easiest lights to hang, but they offer great lighting that can be controlled by app or voice. Govee excels at customizing their lights, and these are no exception. If you are looking to enhance your outdoor lighting, the Govee Outdoor String Lights 2 may be the perfect choice.
