Illustration of an exoplanet in the early universe
Darryl Fonseca/Alamy
Conditions in the early universe may have allowed rocky planets with water to form much earlier than expected, potentially allowing life to begin sooner.
Astrophysicists studying the early universe believe that the formation of planets is difficult until their formation ejects enough heavy elements around the star to form the building blocks of rocky planets, the building blocks of planets. I thought that the formation had not started in earnest. Our sun and its planets arose when the universe is about 9 billion years old and the oldest known planets evolved into cosmic life 1 billion years later.
