if The only thing you need more than a pink Barbie phone is an EcoFlow Power Hat. I know that sounds weird and a little worrisome. I’ve never worn a hat with eight solar panels and dual charging ports on my head, so I don’t know what it’s like. But it’s exciting to imagine being able to charge two devices simultaneously with the hat while hiking. But you’ll have to shell out $80 for this hat. That seems like a lot for a casual beach hat, but not when you factor in a dual-output power bank. So it’s a reasonable purchase.
With a 360-degree solar panel brim, the hat features two charging outputs, Type-A and Type-C, allowing you to charge your devices on the go, simply by slipping it onto your head. The hat’s eight panels provide enough power for at least a few hours. While the capacity ultimately depends on the amount of sunlight the solar panels receive, the hat can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery (the average size of a smartphone battery) in 3-4 hours.
Despite all the technology packed into it, the Power Hat is incredibly light at just 370g. Its fully foldable design keeps it low profile so you can stuff it in your backpack without any issues. The hat is IP65 waterproof and built to withstand a day at the beach.
The Power Hat is available in two sizes: medium large and large extra large. It retails for $80. Pre-orders are currently being accepted. The company told Gizmodo that “the official retail launch date has yet to be determined, but However, pre-orders will be shipped in mid-September.”
EcoFlow will also launch its RAPID Series at IFA 2024. The RAPID Series consists of two magnetic power bricks with 5,000 mAh and 10,000 mAh batteries. Each uses the company’s patented X-Stream technology with PD 3.0 protocol for fast charging and recharging. Both are Qi2 certified, promising twice the speed of regular Qi charging. The RAPID Series power banks will be available in silver, light blue and black.
The company has also revamped its portable power station lineup into the River 3 Series, with base and Plus models. EcoFlow promises that these power stations are 30% smaller than the industry standard and can deliver up to 600W of power output. We like that the River 3 Plus has expandable capacity, allowing you to stack up to two standalone batteries underneath for a total output of 858Wh.
