This season’s House of the Dragon Up until now it’s been full of illusions and prophecies, but the final episode doubles down on that.
Similar to how Damon (Matt Smith) got a glimpse into the future with the help of a weirwood tree, there was also another prophecy from Helaina (Fear Saban) – and it could have big implications for her brothers Aemon (Ewan Mitchell) and Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney).
So what exactly did Helena say to Aemond, and what does it mean?

What does Helena say to Aemond?
After he comes onto the balcony of the Red Keep and asks if she will fly with him to Harrenhal, Helena tells Aemond that she saw Aegon II burning during the Battle of Luke’s Rest, and he tells her that she is lying, but she continues to lie and makes the following prophecy:
“Aegon will be king again. He has not yet seen the victory. He sits on his wooden throne. And you… you will die. You will be consumed in the eyes of the gods, never to be seen again.”

“I could kill you,” Aymond replied.
“Nothing has changed,” Helena replied.
Helena has already made several correct predictions on the show, so it’s only natural that this one won’t come true as well. But what does it all mean?

What is God’s eye?
The first part of Helana’s prophecy is straightforward: She says that Aegon II, as his wounds slowly heal, will one day be king again. The wooden throne may refer to the carriage he rode in with Larrys Strong (Matthew Needham) on their way to Essos in the episode’s final montage, but this isn’t entirely clear.
But what about the Eye of God? This one isn’t as esoteric as it sounds. If you go to the official Westeros map and click on Harrenhal, you’ll see that the Eye of God is the name of a large lake directly south of the castle (called the Eye of God because the island in the middle looks like an eye from above). Helayna is literally telling Aemond how he’s going to die: by disappearing (and presumably drowning) in the lake next to Harrenhal. To emphasize this point, look at the scene immediately following the conversation, where Rhaenyra (Emma Darcy) is flying with Adam of Hal (Clinton Liberty) on his dragon to Harrenhal. That body of water they’re soaring over? That’s the Eye of God.
Helaena’s prophecy is even more ominous considering Aemond is now planning an expedition to Harrenhal with his dragon. Could he die while fighting Daemon there? And will Aemond’s death come in the same battle that Daemon saw in his vision, perhaps drowning him as well? We’ll have to wait until Season 3 to find out.
