How to play Playstation games on a ROG Ally or Steam Deck

Chiaki is an app that can be installed on Steam Deck or ROG Ally. The app allows you to use PlayStation’s Remote Play feature with any controller, but requires you to remap some of the buttons on your handheld to match the PlayStation Dualsense controller. It’s very easy to set up, but with a few extra quick steps you can make your PlayStation games as easy to access as any other game on your handheld device. Here’s how to get started:

1. open Web browser Steam Deck or Rog Ally
2. Go to Chiaki GitHub Release page.
3. download Latest Windows version (chiaki-setup-.exe).
4. Install the program Run the .exe file and follow the installation prompts.

The next steps will vary slightly depending on which device you’re using. You’ll need to add Chiaki to the game library app you’re using. If you’re using Steam Deck, you’ll need to add it to your Steam Library. If you’re using an Asus ROG Ally, you’ll need to add it to Armoury Crate.

To use Chiaki, you’ll need to add it to your games library as your mobile device’s buttons will need to be mapped to your PS5 controller. Most buttons in PlayStation games will match the buttons on your mobile device, but some buttons will need to be manually corrected. Adding Chiaki to your games library will save your button mappings and use them automatically every time you open the app. Here’s how to add Chiaki to your Steam library or Armoury Crate and remap your buttons:

For Armory:

1. open Armory Crate App (The button just below the right corner of the ROG Ally screen)
2. choice library At the top of the Armoury Crate home screen Add a game.
3. reference Where you installed Chiaki (usually C:\Program Files\Chiaki) and select Chiaki.exe.
4. Once added, Launch Chiaki directly from the Armory.
5. Open the Settings tab in Armoury Crate. Select Controller MappingSelect and choose Gamepad mode
6. Remap your controllers to ROG Ally’s buttons are aligned to match the PS5 controllerr. Most of the buttons are already correct, but some are connected to the wrong inputs on the handheld.

For your Steam library:

1. In desktop mode, Open Steam.

If it doesn’t work, make sure Remote Play is turned on by going to Settings > System > Remote Play.
