How to schedule a message on iPhone

Have you ever wanted to schedule a happy birthday message to a special someone so you won’t forget? Schedule a message to remind a friend so they don’t forget their tickets? Or schedule a message for your boss to send at 9am instead of 1am so she doesn’t know in the middle of the night that you remembered that your proposal was due the next morning?

One of the new features Apple added to the Messages app in iOS 18 is Send Later, which lets you schedule an iMessage for any time you want, up to 14 days in advance. The feature was first shown off at WWDC in June, where Apple introduced many of the new features coming in iOS 18. Most of the presentation was about Apple Intelligence, but other new features were also shown off, including new Control Center customization options, new options in the Messages app like Send Later, and the ability to make messages bold, underlined, or italicized.

This feature is only available in iOS 18. If you’re using iOS 17 or earlier, you’ll need to update your device. iOS 18 is currently in public beta. For a list of compatible devices, see Apple’s website.

How do I use Send Later?

Never forget to send a message again

Accessing and using Send Later is very easy: just open the Messages app, select the contact you want to send an iMessage to, and follow these steps:

1. Enter your message plus Click the button to the left of the message field.

2. Scroll through the menu and [後で送信]Select an option:

4. Send the scheduled message.

And you’re all set! Your message will be scheduled to send at the time you selected. As mentioned above, you can schedule messages up to 14 days in advance. How to edit or cancel a scheduled message

With just a few taps

Made a mistake with the date of your scheduled message? Don’t worry.[後で送信]You can edit a scheduled message, cancel it, or send it now. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Above the scheduled message, Tap the Edit button.

2. Edit or timePlease send it to me nowor erase Your message.

3. To edit, New Time If you want to send.

If you want to edit the actual text of a scheduled message, you’ll need to delete the message and start the process over.

What else is new in the messaging app?

Bold text and RCS are finally here

Besides Send Later, Apple has also added new features to the Messages app, such as text formatting. You can now make your messages bold, underline, italicize, or strikethrough. You can also add special effects to your text, such as ripple or jiggle effects. Just tap the “A” icon at the top right of the keyboard.

Another new feature is the ability to react to messages with any emoji. Before iOS 18, you were limited to reacting to messages with hearts, thumbs up/down, haha, exclamation marks, and question marks. Now, the possibilities are endless. You can even react with a plane, train, car emoji, or even a piece of cake. Feel free to choose the emoji you want to react to.
