With Google on the web, you can do a lot more than you think. Not only can you search (with added AI), but you can also perform conversions and calculations, flip coins, roll dice, look up definitions, find places on maps, and much more. You can also do a lot more that you may not realize yet: you can create a watch list of movies and TV shows.
Of course, there are plenty of places you can store such lists, but it’s very handy to be able to keep track of movies and shows you’re interested in, even while you’re searching online. Plus, your watch list is synced across any device that has access to Google or Google TV.
Add movies and shows
Adding a movie or TV show to your Google Watchlist is easy. Just open a browser tab, go to Google, log in and search for something. The search engine will know that you’re searching for a movie or show, I want to see There’s a link in the right panel, click it to save the title to your watchlist.
There’s a lot more to explore on these screens, and Google has been building options for years that appear next to movie and TV show search results, showing ratings obtained from IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, as well as details about where you can stream the content. Edit a service Tell Google details about the services you subscribe to (for example, Netflix or Prime Video).
To remove something from your watchlist, just click it I want to see Click again to deselect it. Also, Already watched Although it’s checked, as far as we can tell, there’s not much practical value in selecting it — there’s nowhere within Google where you can see which movies or shows you’ve marked as watched. You can also mark these titles as I want to see and Already watched at the same time.
If you’re looking for something other than a movie or TV show (for example, “Empire of the Sun” or “Rounders”), you may need to adjust your search a bit. If Google can’t immediately understand what you’re looking for, try adding “movies” or “TV shows” after your search query. Or, look for the links above the results that will redirect you to the appropriate page.
Find your watchlist
Google doesn’t store a list of the shows you’ve watched anywhere, but you can always see a list of shows you want to watch. Go to the Google search box on the web, on the home screen of your Android device, or anywhere else. If you’re signed in to your Google Account, you can search for “My Watched List.”
You’ll then see all the lists you’ve previously saved from Google search results, but there’s not much you can do other than view the list – for example, you can’t mark something as watched from here or leave a rating like you can with Letterboxd.
Clicking or tapping on a specific title will take you back to Google search results for that movie or TV show, where you can see its rating and where you can watch it.If you watch something, “I want to see it.” To deselect it, People also searched for Boxes are great if you’re looking for recommendations.
