Hundreds of community websites and forums could be permanently shut down under the UK’s new online safety laws. Site operators say they are concerned that the legislation imposes onerous obligations and could expose them to multi-million pound fines.
“We are firmly in that range and there is no way around it,” says Dee Kitchen, who runs LFGSS, a cycling forum with 70,000 members. “This law is too broad.”
