Once you arrive at your destination, you can now check in with your friends and family. Apple’s Communication Safety feature, which prevents children from seeing nude images in iMessage, has expanded its reach in iOS 17. Now, these protections extend to other services and apps on iOS, from AirDrop and Contact Posters to FaceTime messages and Live Stickers. It also supports video content. When joining a chat with dozens of new messages, you can now tap the new “catch-up arrow” to jump to the first new message. That way you don’t have to spend time scrolling to find it.
Verify iMessage Contact Key
Apple originally announced this feature last year, but it’s finally here. With Contact Key Verification, you have the option to verify the sender of a message to avoid communicating with someone pretending to be your friend or family member. Users receive a contact verification code that they can cross-reference with the person they’re messaging to ensure the code matches.

If you often work with PDFs, you should definitely try this feature. The software uses machine learning to identify fields in PDFs so you can quickly add details, and the Notes app now lets you organize, read, annotate, and collaborate on PDFs.

Apple lets you track your daily mood in the Health app, and gives you access to depression and anxiety assessments typically done in the clinic (and other resources). In addition to songs, you can now “favorite” albums and playlists. You will then be able to filter your favorites based on category.
