He’s also well aware that fans are still disappointed over the show’s final season. “I understand some people felt it was rushed, and I think I would too,” he said. “But I don’t know if I had any other choice. When I look at pictures of myself in the final season, I look exhausted. I look exhausted. I just couldn’t do another season.”
Regarding the finale, he told the magazine, “Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. Story-wise, I think there were probably some mistakes made towards the end. While Harington has spoken about a failed Jon Snow spinoff (“I eventually backed away and said, ‘If I push it any further and keep developing it, I think it’s going to end up being a bad thing, and that’s the last thing any of us want”), he also said, quite reasonably, that he’s now ready to put the character behind him: “It’s essential to doing my job that people come to see me and not see Jon Snow.”
As for his brief appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he actually Eternals While it seems unlikely that his character Dane Whitman will return, he said, “If Marvel contacts me, I have to do it.”
