Lyme disease is caused by the bacteria Lyme Borrelia It is transmitted to humans through tick bites. Early symptoms include fever, headache and weakness, which can develop into persistent fatigue and pain if not treated immediately with antibiotics.
Doctors can diagnose Lyme disease by finding the characteristic bull’s-eye rash, but about 30 percent of people with Lyme disease never develop a rash.
