A first for Marvel fans, very interesting Captain America: Brave New World A trailer was released in early July, but at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel gave fans some more details about the upcoming film starring one of the studio’s flagship heroes during a Hall H panel.
The footage Kevin Feige introduced at the beginning of tonight’s event in Hall H began at the White House. President Ross (Harrison Ford) is hosting an event about a celestial mass that appeared on Earth. The President explains that when it happened, many people rushed to steal it. It was chaos. But thanks to Captain America, they finally found something valuable: a new element: adamantium. Yes, that Adamantium.
In a new scene that appears to follow, Sam (Anthony Mackie) and Ross are seen talking in the Oval Office. Ross wants Cap to rebuild the Avengers, but Cap points out that Ross’s Sokovia Accords destroyed the Avengers before. So Cap asks what happens if they don’t see eye to eye, but gets no answer.
After a number of action scenes, including the destruction of much of the White House, Sam struts into the Situation Room in a regular suit. He says he has to talk to the President. Everyone leaves except one woman, Ruth (Shira Haas). Ross says she’ll stay no matter what. Apparently Sam is worried that Ross’s inner circle has been compromised, and Ross tells Ruth to back out of it. Sam says it’s bullshit, and Ross says it’s politics.
A hooded figure kills a group of people in a room. Captain America and Falcon (Danny Ramirez) fly around together. We see Captain America spreading his wings and throwing his shield through the air. The phrase “The future favors the brave” appears on screen.
Ross is speaking outside the White House when a gunshot rings out, Ross ducks to jump like the Hulk, and a motion-captured image of Harrison Ford appears as the Red Hulk.
Captain America: Brave New World The film stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, who takes over as Captain America from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, and co-stars include Harrison Ford (playing Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a role played by the late William Hurt in the MCU), Danny Ramirez, Sheila Haas, Shosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito (the villain has been confirmed to be Serpent Society founding member Seth Volker, AKA Sidewinder), Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson.
Captain America: Brave New World It is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.
