Witches are mystical in nature, which is why Marvel WandaVision Spin-off, Agatha All AlongThe film follows Kathryn Hahn’s titular character as she forms a group of witches to join her on a dark quest. But how does Agatha decide to embark on her mission? Look out for Joe Locke’s character, who is just as mysterious as the rest of the cast.
In a new feature for Empire magazine, showrunner Jac Schafer describes Locke’s character as, yes, an “enigmatic teen” who gives Agatha the idea to turn to witchcraft in order to get her magical powers back. Locke himself said that his name is literally just “Teen” in the script, following Marvel’s great tradition of keeping specific plot developments secret until they’re ready to reveal them.
Ever since Locke was announced to star in the series, Marvel fans have speculated that he may be playing Wiccan, aka Billy Kaplan, the wizard and Young Avenger. He is actually the reincarnation of the souls of Wanda and Vision’s twin sons. In the comics, Billy and Tommy were created from parts of Mephisto’s soul when Wanda created them, and after the twins ceased to exist, they were reincarnated as new beings who grew up separately, completely unaware of their connection to Wanda even after they reactivated their superpowers. So it’s unclear if “Teen” is really teeth Billy, there’s a good chance he doesn’t know yet. Agatha All Along.
“He’s a familiar, a sort of coven assistant,” Locke told the magazine. “Teen is a big fan of witchcraft and witches, so his dream is to take Agatha Harkness under his wing and organize a coven and follow the path of the witch. He’s fanboy-ish and he has his own thing. It’s a lot of fun, because I [too]!”
He also brought up a comparison that was unexpected given what we had seen. Agatha All Along So far: “Jack [Marvel boss] When I showed Kevin Feige pictures from the set of The Way of the Witch, he responded, “Oh my God, we The Goonies“What I was saying was, I’m making this adventure series.”
Witch + Psychic + The Goonies Plus (rumored) musical numbers? Agatha All Along We wish it was released sooner, but we don’t have much time to wait: two episodes will be released back-to-back on Disney+ on September 18th.
