If you’re an avid Android user who can’t wait a few more months for the release of Android 15, now is the perfect time to try out the beta. Third beta of Android 15 The rollout began a few days ago and has officially achieved platform stability, meaning developers can now code their apps for this version of Android without worrying about bugs and crashes (except for those that have yet to be discovered, of course).

according to 9to5GoogleI’ve been combing through the beta documentation Android 15 Beta A variety of issues have been fixed, including the Share Sheet no longer crashing. I encountered this bug in the last beta and it was a stark reminder of why I don’t install preview hardware on devices I use every day.

Android 15 Beta 3 introduces some new features not found in previous releases, like adaptive timeouts, which dim your screen after a period of inactivity, and Safe Browsing, which lets you review websites and search terms without touching your Google account. There’s also a new home control screensaver that replicates the device control shortcuts in the notification shade, so you can at least pin your favorites to always be visible.

The 9to5Google article I cited reminds us that even with platform stability, working with unreleased software carries the risk of introducing bugs. Pixel 6 Pro for Commenter 1 personGizmodo’s review device, running the latest beta, also confirms the feature’s absence.

If you want to try something like Adaptive Timeout without waiting for the beta, there are third-party apps that can do this right now. IntelligenceAt the Trusted Android Tips Blog, Kinscreenalso offers a similar screen dimming feature.
