To measure body temperature with the Thermometer app, you need an infrared sensor. To measure your temperature, you need to point the rear camera at your forehead, which isn’t covered by hair or glasses, then slowly scan your forehead and up to your temple on one side of your head to complete the measurement.

1. open Thermometer App.
2. Tap Body temperature.
3. Grant the appropriate permissions and select the relevant settings as required.
4. Aim the camera bar on the back of your Pixel phone towards the centre of your forehead.
5. Hold your phone close to your forehead and it will vibrate when it’s the right distance.
6. A large screen will appear, so tap it. Tap to measure button.
7. Slowly move the phone from your forehead towards your temples – this action should be completed within 4 seconds.
8. To see the recorded temperature, look at your phone screen.
9. Tap keep Do you want to save the measurements? Reset Please try again without saving.

In which countries can I measure temperature with the Pixel Thermometer app?

The feature is expected to be available in the EU as well, but you may have to wait for an update.

Users in Europe are reporting that the feature is not yet available at present, however, Google has announced that the feature will be available in the next security update, after which the temperature measurement feature will be available in the Thermometer app.
