The most controversial new Windows feature in years will be making a spectacular comeback in the coming months.
After announcing an indefinite delay in mid-June, Microsoft updated an older blog post to announce that a new “Recall” feature would be available for Windows Insiders testing in October.
“As we announced on June 13, we have adjusted our release path to leverage the valuable expertise of the Windows Insider community before making Recall available to all Copilot+ PCs,” Microsoft’s blog update said. “Security remains our top priority, and we will publish a blog with more details when Recall becomes available for Windows Insiders in October.”

Windows Recall Release Date Windows
Windows Insiders will have access to Recall in October, though the exact date hasn’t been revealed yet. At least, that’s what we think. Recall was announced in May as a potentially life-changing AI feature that constantly takes screenshots of what you do on your compatible Windows PC, then studies those screenshots to build a database of all your actions that you can search when needed.
The only problem was that Recall was quickly flagged as a major cybersecurity issue, given the fact that it actively and intentionally collects a history of everything you do on your PC. Microsoft tried to patch the situation by making Recall opt-in, but by that point the damage was already done, and at least one government agency was investigating Microsoft over Recall.
We’ll have to wait for Microsoft’s blog post to find out how (if at all) the company has addressed Recall’s security concerns, but at least we won’t have to wait long.
