Reddit has announced a new sports partnerships program that will see the company work with a variety of major sports organizations. New in-app activations for the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA and more.
The new program will bring exclusive sports content to the app to inform and engage a dedicated sports community.
As Reddit explains:
““Through our official partnerships with the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA TOUR and NASCAR, reddit users will have access to game and tournament highlights, player AMAs, behind-the-scenes videos, and exclusive content posted by the leagues throughout the season and during major events like the Super Bowl and NBA All-Star.”
According to Reddit The sports community is growing at a significant rate (+26% YoY), and this new program will help strengthen the connection between Reddit users and the sports they love.
Reddit has long been known for its passionate and knowledgeable community on a wide range of subjects, and sports fans within the app provide even more opportunities for connection and community.
This also increases the reach potential of your ads.
““Reddit advertisers can align their brands with these communities and content experiences, as FanDuel, Samsung, Ford, Volkswagen of America and others did as part of initial testing with the NFL for the 2023-24 season. During testing, an alcoholic beverage brand saw an 11.3-point lift in purchase intent, a 9.4-point lift in brand favorability and a 5.9-point lift in awareness by activating alongside NFL premium video content.”
This is another step for Reddit to build out its advertising business and expand value to more verticals. The platform has grown its daily active users by approximately 10 million over the past year and is now looking to capitalize on the opportunity to create even more value for its users and advertising partners.
Involvement in sports is a great way to do just that, and with Olympic excitement building up, now is a good time to get involved and provide further opportunities for associated brands.
