Manga duo Rick and Morty Sure, they’ve been all over the world. Over the past decade, this multiverse duo has become incredibly popular, appearing in movies, live-action films, video games, and various forms of animation. Which universe will they jump into next? The DC Animated Universe, that is.
Recently, Adult Swim released a TV bumper featuring Rick and Morty. Batman: The Animated SeriesIt looks… pretty good. It does everything it can from start to finish in under a minute. Rick and Morty Characters drawn in a cleaner art style would make the show stand out more and be more eye-catching, as would the themes drawn in a Danny Elfman style.
The bumper was directed and executive produced by Adult Swim editor Aron Flom. Smiling friends) and co-founder of animation studio Open the Portal. In an interview with Animation World Network, Fromm and OTP creative director David Brown revealed that they had met a key figure: BTAS I met writer Paul Dini at a screening of Fleischer’s cartoon last year. Adult Swim told them Rick and Morty In a promo, Brown says the duo chose the classic show because it’s “one of the biggest influences on our work. Many have tried and failed to recreate the magic of the original series, but we love a challenge.”
Despite appearances, the pair stressed that the bumper is a one-off for now and is not a precursor to another one. Rick and Morty Still, Fromm admitted he could easily imagine a “laid-back, gothic” trailer for a fictional series that he thinks could last at least 40 episodes. There are some weird things happening, especially on the Batman side, so maybe we shouldn’t write it off just yet.
