A robot rat on wheels has learned how to interact with real rats while imitating rodent play and fighting behaviors.
“Robot rats look and behave like animals and even have the same smell,” says Qing Shi of Beijing Institute of Technology in China. “This has become an important tool for investigating the behavioral responses of individual or collective rats.”
