Rotten Tomatoes is introducing new “higher” audience review scores for TV shows and movies, and is promising to scrutinize user review scores as much as critic reviews.
The newly introduced Audience Score is called “Verified Hot,” and Rotten Tomatoes says the Audience Score metric will help moviegoers find the films critics and audiences crave.
“But how does a film become Verified Hot?” Rotten Tomatoes wrote in a staff-written blog. “To qualify, a film must earn a Verified Audience Score of 90% or higher on the Popcorn Meter and meet a series of eligibility criteria, which you can read about here,” with a link to RT’s “about” page, which details the criteria.

Towards the end of the blog, Rotten Tomatoes detailed a list of 200 verified hot movies, including some of the most recent blockbusters: Twister, Bad Boys: Ride or Dieand Deadpool and Wolverine.
