For the next 42 days, this will be my home, Regent Seven Seas Splendor. One of my old Antarctic colleagues asked me to serve as instructor and expedition leader on two cruises. The Splendor can carry up to 750 passengers and is easily the largest ship I have ever been on.
Cruise #1 begins in Rio de Janeiro (where the photo of Splendor on the docks was taken) and visits three other ports in Brazil, two ports in Uruguay, Buenos Aires, the Falkland Islands, the Antarctic Peninsula, and a stop at Tierra del Ushuaia. I returned to Fuego. Pass through Punta Arenas and the fjords of southern Chile to Puerto Montt and Valparaíso. Cruise #2 will be the same in the opposite direction (except for the Brazil portion). Let’s sail the South Atlantic and Pacific Ocean.
